Dr. Henneberry and staff are raising money in the efforts against bullying for local schools programs.
How bullying has affected us and why we want to help.
Bullying has been an issue around the world and has struck our small town hard. We have witnessed videos of our very own patients being physically bullied while at school. This discerning event made Dr. Henneberry want to take action. Gloria had a very close family member become a victim of bulling and this gave her the aspiration to put the campaign into motion. Nobody should be scared to go to school, ride the bus, or even walk home from school. At our office we try our hardest to provide a positive, uplifting environment for our patients, but we are only one small part of their life and we wanted to do more.
We are raising money by selling t-shirts that have EMBRACE on the front for the sole reason we want people to embrace all differences. As an Orthodontic office we see there was a stigma behind having braces and having jokes made at your expense. By embracing everyone for who they are and accepting their differences we can become a more united front against bullying. Raising money for the school system can help by having assemblies, team building exercises, and teachers the added tools needed for anti-bullying. These resources are not only to prevent bulling but how to recognize bullying by other students and adults. It would also help with ways to interact with someone who is trying to bully you.
